    ABS plastic profile
 
 
 
    ABS is a copolymer of acrylonitrile Acrylonitrile (23 to 41%), Butadiene Butadiene (10 to 30%), and Styrene Styrene (29 to 60%). The English name is Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-. Styrene, abbreviated as ABS.
 
 
 
    ABS manufacturing methods are divided into two kinds of mixing method and grafting method, mixing ABS was first developed by the American Rubber Corporation in 1945, and the grafting method ABS was first synthesized by the United States Marbon company in 1954. Synthetic ABS has four grades: medium punching, high punching, ultra high punching and heat resistant.
 
 
 
    The general proportion of the three monomers in the ABS copolymer is 20:30:50, so long as the proportion of the three, the polymerization method, and the size of the particles are changed, a series of ABS varieties having different impact strength and flow characteristics can be produced. For example, increasing the content of butadiene components can increase the impact strength of ABS, but the hardness and flowability will decrease, and the strength and heat resistance will deteriorate. If the content of butadiene in ABS reaches more than 50%, it is called high rubber powder and is often used for toughening modification of ABS and PC/ABS.
 
 
 
    ABS was originally developed on the basis of PS modification. Due to its unique advantages of toughness, rigidity, and hardness, its usage is comparable to that of PS, and its application range has far surpassed that of PS. Therefore, it has become a kind of plastic that is independent of PS. In the early stages, ABS was divided into engineering plastics, but with its rapid development, the output soon approached its parent PS. Therefore, from 2000 onwards, it was classified as a general-purpose plastic and became the fifth-largest general-purpose plastic variety.
 
 
 
    How to improve the heat resistance of ABS plastic?
 
 
 
    1. Let the molecular model of the polymer be formed into a three-dimensional structure to form a mesh, thereby inhibiting molecular motion;
 
 
 
    2. Add difficult to move aromatic rings and alicyclic structures inside the molecular structure;
 
 
 
    3. Adding polar groups inside the polymer, so as to rely on the binding force like hydrogen and oxygen chains to inhibit the molecular structure;
 
 
 
    4. The crystal structure is introduced into the polymer structure for heat-resistance modification and a heat-resistant modifier is used.
 
 
 
    ABS plastic material properties
 
 
 
    1, conventional performance
 
 
 
    Plastic ABS is non-toxic and odorless, and its appearance is ivory translucent, or transparent particles or powder. Density is 1.05~1.18g/cm3, shrinkage is 0.4%~0.9%, elastic modulus is 2Gpa, Poisson's ratio is 0.394, hygroscopicity is <1%, melting temperature is 217~237°C, thermal decomposition temperature is> 250 °C.
 
 
 
    2, mechanical properties
 
 
 
    Plastic ABS has excellent mechanical properties, its excellent impact strength, can be used at very low temperatures; plastic ABS excellent wear resistance, dimensional stability, and oil resistance, can be used for medium load and low speed Bearing. The creep resistance of ABS is larger than that of PSF and PC, but smaller than that of PA and POM.
 
 
 
    3, thermal performance
 
 
 
    The heat distortion temperature of plastic ABS is 93~118°C, and the product can be increased by about 10°C after being annealed. ABS can still exhibit certain toughness at -40°C, and can be used within the temperature range of -40°C to 100°C.
 
 
 
    4, electrical performance
 
 
 
    Plastic ABS has good electrical insulation and is almost unaffected by temperature, humidity, and frequency and can be used in most environments.
 
 
 
    5, environmental performance
 
 
 
    Plastic ABS is not affected by water, inorganic salts, alkalis, and various acids, but it is soluble in ketones, aldehydes, and chlorinated hydrocarbons. It is susceptible to stress cracking when attacked by glacial acetic acid, vegetable oils, and the like. ABS has poor weatherability and is easily degraded under the action of ultraviolet light; after half a year outdoors, the impact strength is reduced by half.
